Tanks are built to Underwriters Laboratories specification standard UL-142. Each tank is sized with the appropriate normal and emergency vent openings as defined in the tank's standard of construction. Only new materials are used in tank construction. Special fabrication can incorporate dished tops, dished and coned bottoms all supported on skirts or legs. Tanks generally have flat bottoms and conical roofs. These tanks may also be built with or without multiple compartments for multiple fuel storage. If the tank is a double wall configuration, then it has interstitial monitoring capabilities. Vertical tanks may be of single or double wall construction.
